Big SEM agencies, iREP and AUN Consulting have both released their picks of top 10 SEM news of the year.
iREP's list contains:
- Docomo and Google collaboration announcement for mobile phone search.
- Google Street View now available in Japan.
- Yahoo! vs. Google vs. Microsoft - War on buy-offs.

- Yahoo! Japan Interest Match Ads
- The biggest SE of China, Baidu launch in Japan
- Google and Yahoo! Japan go beyond web search - Blended search expansion.
- SEs in Japan beginning to share more SEO information

- Releases of high quality keyword analytics tools
AUN Consulting's top 10 report is available here in English.
It's similar to iREP's list, though the focus is more on Google.
No. 7 of the AUN's list is interesting, although it doesn't directly relate to the Japanese market.
"Chinese mobile phone users reach 600 million: 4.7 times the population of Japan"
This is a great reminder of how big China is.
